Some Words from our Clients

As the only Ayrshire member in a Glasgow based band I don't get to use Studio 5 nearly as much as I would like to for rehearsals. We have used the studio a few times and were very happy with the set up and equipment that Colin has there. The facilities on offer are first class and we hope that one day we will be able to set up a small intimate gig in the "live room", invite some guests and shot some video.

The real advantage that Studio 5 has over other rehearsal studios however, are the proprietors, Colin and Morag who are at the heart of the live music scene in Ayrshire and have been responsible for giving a home to so many good local bands and offering them an opportunity to develop their talents.

As the organiser of a local annual charity event I can honestly say that any success that our event had would not have been possible without the knowledge, hard work, guidance, networking and generosity of Colin and Morag. Studio 5 has provided the PA , backline , and sound engineering for most of our events. The sound quality has been first class which is important not only to our audience but also helps our event to attract better quality bands. Almost all of the bands who have played at our events have some connection to Studio 5. I would strongly recommend their services to any bands, venues and event organisers.

The Colin Kennedy Band (CKB) held a private preview in Studio 5 as a warm-up before their album launch gig at the HAC in Irvine.

The large studio is ideal for a small private party or just an intimate venue for a band. The actual stage is perfectly laid out with drum riser etc in place and more than enough space for a full band set up with back-line drums keyboards amps etc. There are on stage monitors fixed up on the walls so no matter where you are on stage you will hear what you need to.

Morag Angus made everyone welcome on arrival and was the perfect hostess. Colin Angus has laid the place out perfectly with the mixer placed in an elevated position at the back of the room where he can see and hear everything. Colin obviously knows his set up inside out and managed to get us a fantastic sound on the night which was remarked on by all in attendance.

All in all I would highly recommend Studio 5, its a great place to rehearse, a great place to record, and a great place to put on a small private gig, safe in the knowledge that it will look good on that well lit well laid out stage, and most importantly it will sound good, so all you have to do is concentrate on the performance and let the Studio 5 team take care of the rest.

I enjoyed playing there and look forward to the next one.

The best rehearsal studio, full stop. Ok, I haven't been to Abbey Road so maybe put "that I have been to".

Colin and Morag know their music and are an institute on the Ayrshire ( and further a field) music scene. Any musical equipment repairs needed, then Colin is your man.

They do PA hire too. All they need is a Costa on site and all angles covered.

In the six years that I've been visiting Studio 5, I have seen the place grow and develop from strength to strength, but what has never changed is the quality, the atmosphere and most importantly, the community. Studio 5 is not only the perfect place to get a great sweat on while rehearsing, seeing a fantastic show or having some brilliant work done on your favourite guitar (I recommend all of these services), it's perfect for meeting the amazing people who put themselves into the place and work so hard for the community that uses it. I'd recommend Studio 5 to everyone, it's for the young, the veterans and the new guys; an absolutely fantastic studio.
